Here’s are the images and a video to help you see how this is done.
So here’s some images to show you how to get her out of bed.

- The bed is flat
- The walker is in place (may have to be shifted for her feet to get around)
- Note: the potty chair is in position for her to do her very slow pivot to the chair

- Move the head area of the bed up
- Let her keep moving her legs slowly out of the bed

- At this point she needs a little help sitting up and shifting around so her feet can start to come down to the floor.
- You can stand behind her
- Or, you can also help her sit up and then begin inching off the bed
- You’ll want a little pillow/pad to protect her legs from hitting the guard rails.
Once her feet hit the floor have her release the cloth bands, keep her strong leg directly under her, and hold tight and strong to the walker.
Keep reiterating about the strong leg and arms on the walker. She knows how to pivot.
Have the potty chair ready to sit on directly behind her so she can just sit her bum on it once she has made only a few moves.
(see image below)

It’s really not that difficult. click for video
Please note. We had the bather here when this video was made. But it’s totally possible to do it with just one person. The belt thing is not necessary. Letting her pull on your hand to help her scoot herself forward seems to work best. Make sure she is sitting up tall in order to start the scoot.
Then when she’s done:
- Put a fresh diaper around her feet and then pull it up to thigh level.
- Have her use the handles on the potty chair to stand up.
- Wipe her with gloves on and use the big wet wipes.
- Have the walker right in front of the potty chair and she’ll move her hands from the potty chair handles to the walker handles.
- Then have her slowly start the pivot back into bed. (make sure she knows her bottom is heading to the bed. (she tried to get in face first one time and got furious with me because I told her she was not doing it correctly. So take a little time telling her to go in bum first.
- Once she sits down you can help her move her legs back onto the bed with your hands.
Potty chair maintenance:
The potty chair bucket is lined with a bag and filled with some kitty litter just to prevent splashes and to also absorb the pee. If she only pees you don’t have to empty it every time for pee only. It can be reused that’s why the kitty litter is in there plus it prevents splashing.

The above image shows the bucket with the bag liner inside.

Then add some kitty litter to it (it’s in a bag under the orange tree)
THEN, add the plastic liner, as you can see in the image above.
Final step is to set it in the potty chair.
When she goes potty you can take it all outside, remove the hard plastic liner, tie the bag up and put it into a black trash bag. You want there to be a secure seal with 2 bags so the trash doesn’t end up stinking to high heaven. (there’s a bunch of those black bags on top of her dresser)

This picture shows how to cut the diaper off after a pee. Cut both sides and then pull the sides down. Keep working them down until you can grab the diaper from between her legs.

Keep her teeth in the cup and fill with water every night.
Then in the morning pour the water off and put a little of the mouthwash stuff on them. Give them to her to put back in her mouth.
